Tabasco the Saucy Raccoon, Chapter 8

Raccoon story - Chapter 8

CHAPTER 8 FROM TABASCO THE SAUCY RACCOON

Well what’s TABASCO THE SAUCY RACCOON doing in chapter 8? This one is called THERE’S A RACCOON EVERYWHERE. I left Simon Fraser University and Tabasco and I are holidaying with Jack, my friend the wildlife biologist in the Okanagan. It’s Spring and Tabasco is almost a year old. She’s always free to go where she likes so perhaps she will roam around looking for a mate. She did, visiting the neighbours and they have their own story. Tabasco certainly came back home when she guessed there was a party. She loved parties especially if there was a barrel of beer around. Then one week when she was in heat she didn’t come home at all. On the 7th day I found her outside in her open cage. Why hadn’t she come in the house? Something was wrong. The vet said she had a fractured pelvis. You can read chapter 8 yourself to find out what happened next. Chapter 8 is one drama after another. But I will tell you one thing: Tabasco’s friend, our dog Beauregard, is the hero. For me, the rest of the book is very emotional. Unlike many other writers, I do not fictionalize the truth. I tell it is like it is. But such are my life’s experiences, I can usually find something good when things go bad. You can discover what happens next by reading the rest of the book.
